FOR CULTURAL EVENTS

 

Photographer/Videographer

Photographers and/or videographers capture memories from VHC’s semi-annual cultural celebrations and showcase the community’s special traditions. This is a great opportunity for photographers to hone their skills in event photography, promote their work, and experience first-hand an important part of Vietnamese culture.

Qualifications

Photographers/videographers from all backgrounds and skill levels are welcome. Must be able to shoot, edit, and share high-res photos/videos.

Required Commitment

Must be available on event day. Availability to shoot performance practice sessions and other event planning meetings is preferred but not required.

 

 

Sponsorships Coordinator

The Sponsorships Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and works to acquire and manage sponsorships for events, which includes outreach to potential sponsors as well as handling logistics and communications with local vendors. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in relationship management and strategic event planning.

Qualifications

Must be based in NYC or regularly travel to NYC, as you will need to attend VHC meetings and develop relationships with local vendors. Must be able to work and communicate remotely via email and Google Drive. Prior experience with sponsorships preferred but not required.

Required Commitment

Must be available 3-4 months prior to the event to identify sponsorship opportunities and assist with strategic planning for events. Must also be available on event day to oversee sponsorship-related logistics.

 

 

Performances Coordinator

The Performances Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and manages all performance-related components of VHC events. This is a leadership position which includes planning rehearsals, managing volunteer performers, running tech checks, and coordinating the run-of-show. It’s a prime opportunity to hone leadership skills, gain additional experience in event planning, and meet many of VHC’s volunteers and community members.

Qualifications

Must be organized, proactive, and an excellent communicator, as this role will involve coordinating between multiple groups of people with multiple timelines. Must be located in NYC to manage rehearsals and attend planning meetings. Must also be able to work and communicate remotely via email and Google Drive. Prior experience with event planning preferred but not required.

Must be available 3-4 months prior to the event to plan and manage performance rehearsals. Must also be available on event day to oversee execution of performances.

 

 

Activities Coordinator

The Activities Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and works to develop, plan and execute activities booths during events. This is a leadership role in charge of managing general volunteers, logistics, and communications related to event activities. It’s also a great opportunity to work with many of VHC’s volunteers and strengthen your leadership skills, as well as gain additional experience in event planning.

Qualifications

Must be proactive, creative, organized, and an excellent communicator, as this role will require coordinating between multiple groups of people with multiple timelines. Must be located in NYC and be able to work and communicate remotely via email and Google Drive. Prior experience with event planning preferred but not required.

General Volunteer

General volunteers help with an assortment of event planning activities before and during the event. These roles are typically related to performances, activity booths, food preparation, and welcoming guests. This is a great way to meet the VHC community as well as get involved if you are new to the Vietnam Heritage Center and want to participate with the community in some way.

Qualifications

Individuals from all backgrounds, interests, and ages (18 and over) are welcome. Must be reliable, a good communicator and a team player. Must have access to email and Google Drive.

Required Commitment

Flexible based on your interests and availability. Ability to attend the event is preferred but not required.

VIETNAMESE SCHOOL

kids class.jpg

Lead a class as a teacher or provide support and engage with a diverse array of students interested in Vietnam and Vietnamese culture.

Administration

Help the Vietnam Heritage Center with marketing, coordinating and outreach. Get valuable experience with the inner workings of a nonprofit.
